Baby-Baby is the first of many animals that I do not own but have had the pleasure of working with. She was the first calf born to Baby, a calf that we raised in Grandma and Grandpa's yard. Baby was part of the family and even occasionally tried to join us by looking through the windows at us. When she had her first calf we of course couldn't name her anything but Baby-Baby.
When Baby-Baby was about six months I made a deal with my Grandparents that I would pay for her feed in return for them letting me borrow her for the 2017 show season
So began the process of first taming and then training Baby-Baby. Unlike her mother, she had a surprising amount of independence and a strong will that almost matched mine. We would often butt heads but there was a mutual respect between the two of us.
Though she did not fit the standard of the judges, Baby-Baby was the best looking calf I've had the honor of showing.
Baby-Baby is now living in the field and enjoying life although between you and me I think she misses being pampered every day.
